This is “Whistler”. The model, Chris Spring, is an Olympian. He is a bobsledder so the pose is a reflection of his positioning in the sled as well as at the start. There is a subtle fatigue in the way the left arm accepts the majority of the weight but the power the arms possess elude to the rest being temporary. The sculpt exudes “hard work and dedication”.
The texture is more realistic at the bottom and becomes more and more raw and touch at the top to symbolize Whistler mountain itself.
Another important part of this Sculpture is a donation to Chris /Amateur sport that is reflective of dreams and hope for so many… especially here in Whistler.
